Method A - Receiving a PDF via email directly to your device.
- In your devices Mail application, navigate to the email with the PDF attachment.
- Touch on the PDF icon. This should start the download of the document.
- Once downloaded, you should be able to touch the PDF icon once again. This will open the PDF document.
- Touch the screen, and in the top right you will see an 'arrow' icon. Touch this to select the "Open in iBooks" command.
- This will place the PDF in your iBooks library. Here you will be able to search, annotate and bookmark content within your PDF document.
- The next time you sync your device with iTunes, the PDF will appear in your Books Library in iTunes.
Method B - Adding a PDF to iTunes on your desktop.
- Locate your PDF file on your desktop computer.
- Drag and drop the file into your iTunes Library. This will import the PDF into the Books section of your iTunes Library.
- Sync your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch with iTunes and make sure that there is a check mark next to your PDF document in the Books section of the device Sync panel.
- Once the Sync is complete, navigate to the iBooks app on your device. You should see your document in the PDF section of your iBooks Library.
- Touch on the icon to open the document. Here you will be able to search, annotate and bookmark content within your PDF document.
